I took this photo of the great Roger Federer at this year's BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California, and just had to pull it out of my archive after his amazing come-from-behind victory today over Gael Monfils in the US Open. As usual, Monfils' antics were a bit much. I get that his jester-like behavior pumps him up and often gets the crowd on his side, but you're doing something wrong when the recap characterizes your match as "the legend against the sideshow."
About the photo: I shot this with a 200mm lens from the cheap seats, and aside from Roger's footwork and beautiful one-handed backhand, I really like the court's sharp angles, vibrant contrasting colors, and Roger's shadow that is cast across it. Thanks for looking!
